Last week, Sugar Australia celebrated Harmony Week by hosting Food Festival lunches across our sites.
We encouraged team members to bring in a dessert from their culture or a country they had enjoyed visiting, and were lucky to enjoy a range of delightful treats including a French tarte tatin, Maltese Figolli Easter pastry, ANZAC biscuits, Malaysian coconut and ginger candy, Japanese cookies, and a range of other dishes from South Africa, Sri Lanka, India and the Philippines.
One of the activities our team members enjoyed the most was the scratch maps we posted across sites on which we asked people to pinpoint where their families originate. It was wonderful to watch the colours emerge throughout the week.
We’re extremely proud of the diversity of the Sugar Australia team and thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to recognise and celebrate each other’s culture.
